2012 was the year where I got back to doing a few things I haven’t done in a long time. One of them being a triathlon, but the best thing was by far SKIING. The “latest” European Ski Atlas on my book shelf says “2000”, so it’s been the odd year since the last time I have been in the snow.
Now there are a few things to skiing. Yes, it is overly expensive, the gear, lift passes, travelling to the ski fields rocks up quite a bill. Whether all that is so environmentally friendly, questionable.
The is however no more serene place than a chairlift. Usually you are in the middle of nature / nowhere, it’s winter with clean, crisp air, nowhere to go (your suspended a few meters above ground) and the only thing on your agenda is the run downhill. – 100% serenity
