between the years

Xmas Metzingen

Happy Christmas, Happy Holidays & Best Wishes for 2013!!

“Thank you very much” for all the messages and thoughts over the holiday period. I took the opportunity to switch off – literally, got a local SIM and the BlackBerry hasn’t been switched on since I left Sydney 😉

2012 has been an exciting year. The most outstanding event for me was to actually go back and do a triathlon. Super-short distance, but none the less, I got back on the h… bike. Considering I am pushing hard to get through my CPA exams and all the issues at work (the French love long hours), that does make it special – in my little world. And it was in Auckland, New Zealand which has become my “happy place”.

Speaking of Nu Zulund, 1st time skiing in over 10 years was quite remarkable – pun intended, I was at “The Remarkables”.

I enjoyed the privilege of 2 running events with Leah who made it to the Northern Beaches for the Sun Run from Dee Why to Manly and later we did the Brissie Half Marathon which Leah mastered in just 2 hours – for a first time an amazing time. As for me, I am looking forward to the Backnang New Year’s Eve run.

Travel wise the year has been reasonably quiet. Hong Kong for Easter, Europe in early Summer and for Christmas (yay).

With all things happening, I have neglected staying in touch and catching up with a few friends over the year and I do apologise for that. Doesn’t mean I don’t think of you on the odd (or regular) occasion.

Happy New Year and all the very best for 2013. – I’ll leave you with some inspiration … and keep running 😉
